Meisner Masterclass II: Applications

Adult

Stage

You do NOT have to take Meisner Masterclass I as a prerequisite for this course. This course focuses on the idea of "giving over." We will be working on tools to help us give over to the circumstances, giving over to our partners, and giving over to the moments. Allowing the moments to dominate instead of the words. This sessions students will perform scenes that will be presented to an audience invited colleagues, friends, and family.

  • Through exercises, Learn what it means to live moment to moment, working offof your partner allowing each moment to be spontaneous and authentic to the truth of the scene.
  • Trust your point of view and exercise your impulses to develop strong and instinctive choices.
  • Work on being a penetrable actor, one that allows each and every moment from your partner or activities to “do you.”
  • Provide tools to create a strong inner emotional life with the ability to simply “give over” to the given circumstances of any scene or situation.

Tuition: $489
Maximum of 16 students

Marquelle Young

Marquelle Young

Marquelle Young began her journey impacting audiences as an Oratorical State and National Speech Champion before the age of 12. It was then that she also found her joy for theatre and dance, and made her theatrical debut at Atlanta’s historic Fox Theatre. From then on she continued performing in professional theatre productions and working with the likes of Kenny Leon, Patdro Harris, and Tyler Perry. She has studied in LA and New York and is a graduate of the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, where she met and studied Meisner under Larry Moss’s tutelage: Steve Perlmutter. This is where her true passion for the Meisner technique was born. After graduating, Marquelle continued to study Meisner and received her training as a Meisner Institute Certified Meisner Coach under the guidance of Scott Trost. With a true passion for all aspects of the arts, she has become an award winning Director, Producer, and Actress. Including projects such as BET’s American Soul, Verizon, Lego, Google, Capitol Records, LifeTime, Cosmopolitan, and Hulu to name a few. For Marquelle, the Meisner work is not just a technique for acting, it’s a way of life. A way to begin trusting yourself and your instincts as an artist beyond this creative industry. She believes this step by step work can heal, can uplift, and awaken a person through the exercises, creating a space for you to live truthfully and continue to search for the truth in your acting. Her goal is to educate and empower the next generation of talented creatives to help change the world through the arts.
