LIVE COACHING

The Alliance Theatre offers one-on-one virtual coaching sessions with professional Alliance Theatre artists. Whether you are starting out or are a seasoned professional actor, these private coaching sessions will take your craft to the next level. 

Coaching sessions are $60 for a one-hour session. You can choose your preferred date and time when you purchase your session. After your purchase, an Alliance Theatre staff member will reach out to you to coordinate a phone consultation to match you with a teaching artist. Coaching sessions are available for artists of all ages.  

All sessions are conducted through Zoom.

Morgan Rysdon

Morgan Rysdon is a nationally certified Alexander Technique teacher and founder of Center Studio. With an active private practice in New York City and Atlanta, she helps actors, singers and dancers elevate their performances as well as recover from chronic pain, injury, stress and anxiety. She holds a BA in acting and performing and spent time acting professionally in Chicago working at theaters such as Victory Gardens Theatre, The Redmoon Theatre Company and The Hypocrites among others. She gained her teaching certification from The American Center for the Alexander Technique in NYC. Committed to helping others, Morgan teaches private lessons and group classes with a focus on building self-awareness, self-confidence and poise through improving the overall function of an individuals mind, body, breath and voice. Since relocating to Atlanta in 2018 she has taught at the Alliance Theatre, Horizon Theater and Actors Express among others.

Lon Bumgarner

Lon Bumgarner holds two Master of Fine Arts degrees, one in Theatre Production from Virginia Commonwealth, the other in Film from the University of Southern California as well as graduate credits from the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford, England. His film and commercial credits include the direction and production of independent features as well as numerous shorts and over 60 national and international commercials and industrials. His graduate film “Three Pages” was selected as one of the top one hundred films to represent the USC on its 70th anniversary. He is the recipient of many grants and honors including the North Carolina Screenplay Fellowship and since 1984 has directed over 125 plays throughout the country including off Broadway. For eight years he served as Artistic Director of the Charlotte Shakespeare Company (CSC), a non-profit professional theater company and during that tenure was presented one of the original International English Speaking Union’s “Excellence in English Awards” by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. He has taught in a variety of state universities and private colleges and recently retired after twelve years as a member of the theater faculty at UNC/Charlotte. He is also the founder and principle instructor of the Film Actors’ Studio, which for over twenty years has served as a training ground for over 3500 professional actors.

Cara Mantella
