Values, Engagement, and Service

Theater is a mirror, a record, and a prophecy. It carries the weight of history and the promise of tomorrow. It has the power to connect people across differences, to see life from a different point of view, and to celebrate our shared humanity.  It invites us to move from reckless selfishness to consider the common good, to replace blame with forgiveness, and condemnation with curiosity. To fulfill this promise, we welcome a multiplicity of experiences, perspectives, and opinions to participate as audiences, students, artists, and partners.  The stories we tell, the artists who tell them, and the programs we deliver are deeply rooted in, reflective of, and responsive to our community.  The Alliance belongs to the people—all the people—and so our work must honor the vastness of their truths.  Below are some of the programs that help us realize this vision.

We are only as strong as the people who build, create, and dream with us. That is why we hold ourselves to the highest standards in how we welcome, hire, and support those who bring this theater to life. Fairness is not an afterthought; it is a foundation. We regularly examine our practices, from wages to opportunities, to ensure that those who labor here do so in an environment that nurtures their growth and respects their worth.

Join us in our work to build an Alliance of the people, for the people—a home for truth, a stage for every voice, and a future shaped by all who call this city their own.
