If you find yourself heading OTP (outside the perimeter) of Atlanta to see "Crossing Delancey," make sure to spend some extra time in Dunwoody! Ten miles north of the capital, Dunwoody is the perfect destination for any type of adventure. The city is home to restaurants that will impress your inner foodie, along with activities and events your family won’t want to miss this holiday season. Here’s our list of things to do in Dunwoody:

For the FOODIE in you

If you’re looking to eat your way through Dunwoody (we sure are), our list of the cities top establishments will surely make you hungry. Let’s start with burgers. Farm Burger is renowned in Atlanta for its local, grass-fed beef and chef-driven, seasonal menu. The Dunwoody location is perfect for the foodie that cares about where their meat comes from and is a fun group dinner spot. Also be sure to stop by Village Burger, voted best burger in Dunwoody.

When the weekend finally rolls around, grab your friends and head to Marlow’s Tavern. This neighborhood restaurant serves up incredible tavern food in a modern atmosphere. This spot has a cozy, intimate feel, with a contemporary open kitchen and large bar. Be sure to try their truffled parmesan fries and shrimp & grits. Calories don’t count on the weekend, right? After dinner, finish the night at Dunwoody Tavern. Grab a drink and soak in beautiful fall nights on the patio of this Irish Pub with live music every weekend.

Also, if you're looking for a ticket deal, look no further than our Dinner and Show option at Season's 52. For just $65, see the show on Tuesday, November 21, and enjoy a three-course pre-show dinner just down the road from the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta. Use promo code DELANCEY65 when purchasing your tickets.

When you’re feeling FIT

So you forgot about your diet and ate too many truffle fries this weekend —don’t worry! Dunwoody has the trendiest fitness activities that will get back on track and feeling great. Trendy workouts are all the rage, and we are loving CYCLEBAR in Dunwoody. This workout is high-intensity indoor cycling with a killer playlist. If you’re feeling a bit more mellow, we recommend Infinity Yoga. They offer a variety of class including basics, core power, morning flows, and Yin yoga. Plus, new students get their first two weeks for only $20!

After all this fitness, you’re sure to be feeling hungry. We’ve got two healthy restaurants that make the perfect post-workout fuel! Cafe at Pharr is an adorable lunch spot and Dunwoody favorite. They have a variety of sandwiches, salads, and make some of the best chicken salad in the city. For a hearty fuel up, head to First Watch. This day-time cafe offers a seasonal menu with favorites like Butternut Squash Bisque and the Farmer’s Biscuit Sandwich. Plus, they have a killer juice bar that will get you detoxed and feeling cleansed.

For the SHOPAHOLIC

While Buckhead offers the Lenox and Phipps Plaza shopping malls, we recommend escaping the traffic and bustle and heading a few minutes north. Dunwoody is home to Perimeter Mall, an upscale shopping mall with all our favorite brands. We love J.Crew, Banana Republic, H&M, LOFT, and LuLu Lemon to name a few. This mall has a variety of stores for any type of shopper. If you love Nordstrom but are on a budget, try Nordstrom Rack. This Dunwoody gem has all the Nordstrom essentials at a discounted rate. Who doesn’t love a look for less?

For the entire FAMILY

If you’re looking for enriching activities to do with your kids, head to the Dunwoody Nature Center! This neighborhood favorite offers a variety of fun including educational classes, camps, group hikes, and concerts. Be sure to check out the event calendar to see what’s happening at any given time. We recommend a kid favorite, Theater in the Park, or Backyard Campouts. Don’t miss the FREE Friday night hikes! Because who doesn’t love the adventure of a night hike?

Our favorite winter EVENTS

We love Light Up Dunwoody, which starts in early November. This event will kick off the holiday season with its annual tree and menorah lighting, and includes seasonal music, vendors, gifts and refreshments. The holiday season can’t start early enough for us, so remember to head to Cheek Spruill Farm House in Dunwoody for this fun event.

If classic cars are more your thing, be sure to check out Dunwoody's Caffeine and Octane Car Show. Held on the first Sunday of the month, this free event regularly draws 2,500 vintage, muscle, high performance and exotic cars.

While the Marcus Jewish Community Center is home to our fall show, it also hosts the premier Book Festival in the Southeast. With this year's guests including Dan Rather, Al Franken and the Bush daughters, it's sure to impress any book lover.

Whether you’re looking for the best restaurants, holiday events, shopping, or family activities, Dunwoody has something for you. This neighborhood is thriving with fun and trendy things to do that will satisfy any mood.
