School Break Play Days FAQ
Are teaching artists vaccinated?
The Woodruff Arts Center has implemented a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all staff and artists.
Will masks be required? If so, what type of masks or face coverings are acceptable?
Yes, students and staff will be required to wear masks properly indoors at all times. Exceptions will be made for eating/drinking. We require masks that follow CDC guidelines such as fitted masks or double layered gaiters. The CDC outlines which masks are effective here.
Where will play days be held?
Play Days will be held indoors in studios, classrooms, or performance spaces. We have chosen our classroom spaces to provide 113 sq ft for each student in order to maintain social distancing.
Will you do health screenings?
All students will complete a health screening upon arrival. Students who do not pass the health screening will not be allowed to participate in Play Days that day.
What is your cleaning/sanitizing protocol?
High-touch areas such as doorknobs and light switches will be sanitized after each use. Our classrooms, carpool spaces, and bathrooms are deep cleaned and sanitized daily. Classroom supplies such as markers, crayons, scissors, etc. will not be shared. Each student will have their own supplies to use for the duration of the camp.
Has your HVAC system been upgraded?
Yes. The HVAC system in the Woodruff Arts Center has been upgraded. Our new ionization system provides a 99.4% reduction on COVID-19 within 30 minutes.
What happens if a student or staff member experiences symptoms or tests positive for COVID-19?
If a student or staff member experiences COVID-19 symptoms while in class, the person will be immediately quarantined and required to leave campus. If a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19, all students who have had contact with the student or staff member will be notified by Alliance Theatre staff.
What are the hours for Play Days?
Play Days run from 9 AM to 4 PM.
What should my child bring to Play Days?
Students should dress in comfortable clothing they can move in and wear sneakers. All students must wear a face mask! Each student should bring a lunch, 2 snacks, a water bottle, a towel to sit on during lunch, and hand sanitizer (if desired). Please label all personal belongings.
What is the maximum number of students?
Play Days are capped at 10 students. In accordance with CDC recommendations, we are providing 113 sq ft for each student.
How will lunch work?
Young actors will eat lunch and morning and afternoon snacks in outdoor spaces, weather permitting. If weather does not allow for outdoor lunch, students will eat in their classrooms or studios.
Will you provide before or after care?
We do not be offer before or after care for School Break Play Days.
Is there a final performance?
School Day Play Days do not culminate in a final performance.
