Use theater-based learning strategies and The Actor’s Tool Kit (being present, connected, curious, intentional, and authentic) to help challenge assumptions, acknowledge biases, and establish a culture of genuine equity, inclusion, and justice in workplaces and our lives.
How to Create a Culture of Allyship
In this two-part training, teams take part in theater-based, facilitated conversations that nurture ethical, benevolent, and inclusive behaviors.
Part I - Exploring Identity, Privilege, and Our Empathy Deficits
During this session, teams will learn to exercise inclusion of people's authentic identities, personally contextualize vocabulary and concepts relating to justice, equity, and diversity, and investigate how bias informs individual action.
Part II - Being a True Ally Through Real Conversation
Participants will work to be able to assess a situation to determine where, how, and why bias exists, establish a normalcy for healthy, positive, and effective conversations about bias, demonstrate how to gently and safely confront bias when it occurs, and model how to practically apply empathy in everyday situtation.
