Health & Safety

The safety of our patrons, artists, and staff is the Alliance’s top priority.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the Woodruff Arts Center’s campus.

For the safety and comfort of all guests, the Woodruff Arts Center utilizes the OPENGATE® weapons detection system at select entrances. This advanced screening technology helps security personnel identify potential weapons while allowing patrons to enter quickly and conveniently. Unlike traditional metal detectors, OPENGATE is designed to screen guests as they walk through at a normal pace, without requiring the removal of jackets, purses, or other personal items in most cases. If the system detects an item that requires additional review, a member of our security team may conduct a brief secondary screening. Our goal is to provide a welcoming and secure environment while ensuring a smooth arrival experience for all visitors.

Per the Woodruff Arts Center policy, weapons of any kind are prohibited on the Arts Center campus. Thank you for your cooperation as we seek to keep our audiences, artists and staff safe.

The following items are not permitted on the venue premises:
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Backpacks/oversized purses
  • Large umbrellas
  • Banners, leaflets, posters, flags
  • Video/audio recording devices
  • Professional cameras with detachable lenses
  • Laptops, iPads, tablets
  • Outside food & beverages
