William Ivey Long

Current Broadway: Chicago, now in its 20th year; Disaster! The Musical. Other Broadway credits include On the Twentieth Century; Cabaret (1998 and 2014 revivals), Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Hugh Jackman: Back on Broadway, Grey Gardens, The Producers, The Boy From Oz, Hairspray, Contact, The Music Man, Crazy for You, Guys and Dolls, A Christmas Carol and Nine. Recent off-Broadway productions include The Belle of Amherst with Joely Richardson, Lucky Guy and The School for Lies. Recent television work includes “Grease, Live!” for Fox. Long has been nominated for 15 Tony Awards and won six. He was inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame in 2005, and elected chairman of the American  Theatre Wing in June 2012. Long grew up in Rock Hill, S.C., a stone’s throw from both Charles Randolph-Wright in York, S.C., and PTL headquarters in Fort Mill, S.C.
