Production history

Since 1968, the Alliance Theatre has been staging has been staging the best work in American theatre, from classics of the form to world premieres from both new and established authors. The Alliance has been home to more than 100 premieres, including Tony Award winners The Color Purple by Alice Walker; Aida by Elton John and Tim Rice; and Alfred Uhry's The Last Night of Ballyhoo. Plus, in every season since 2003/04, the winner of the Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition has received its world premiere on the Hertz Stage here at the Alliance.
